Parliament House Of Malta
DESERT COLOURED BEAUTY
This photo series of the Parliament House of Malta was shot in the late afternoon in Valletta, the European Capital of Culture 2018. I was so impressed and fascinated by the appearance of the building build by Renzo Piano that I needed to take photos of it. What I like about the architecture is the modern yet subtle feeling of it. The clear straight shapes combined with the sand-coloured structures on the facade that come to life when the sun hits them. The different materials: limestone, metal and glass. I wanted to capture these feelings and impressions of ease within my shots so I decided to use a square format to concentrate the viewer’s eye on the details. Furthermore I over-exposed the shots slightly and gave the sky more of a cyan-colour to reflect my interpretation of the building.
